Ellen Hughes is a Renaissance Woman, someone with broad interests in both science and the arts. Two common threads running throughout her products, lectures, and private business enterprises are organization and making our life easier. After selling her secretarial service, she researched and wrote the Government Auctions/Sales Manual. This book organized details for several government agencies into one place, making it easier for the public to find and participate in the sales. Associated Press dubbed Ellen’s company, The McKee Company, as “the expert” on government auctions.
Her next major undertaking was to develop the Office Wizard, a software program that creates a personalized office procedures manual. She created the Office Wizard in response to her own experience working for a variety of companies and seeing first-hand the huge amounts of time wasted when instructions, directions and procedures were not written down or available in a comprehensive office procedures manual. She found the complaint was always the same: there just wasn’t time or personnel to create one. The Office Wizard is a template with fill-in fields and is comprehensive in scope.
Her recent project speaks to her interest in alternative health. She is a Clinical Hypnotherapist and trained in several other methods. Her best selling book on Amazon, Adventures in Alternative Healing, looks at the who, what, when, where and why of 26 alternative health methods. Ellen is trained or has personal experience with 23 of the methods. The book looks at the similarities and differences of different methods, gives scientific principles on why the method works and instructions on how to perform it. It is a unique perspective on the whole CAM (Complementary and Alternative Medicine) arena, one that has not been looked at before.
